About Waste Petroleum Combustion Limited

Waste Petroleum Combustion (WPC) is a family owned business that has been operating since 1984. The business has been under the management of Gavin and Debbie Thomas since 2011.

In October 2021 WPC purchased ExOil, a waste oil recovery business located in Palmerston North.  ExOil is now known as Waste Petroleum Combustion Limited (WPC).

WPC collects waste oil throughout the North Island.  This waste is recycled through either the Pukekohe or Palmerston North site.

The recycling process produces a cost-effective heating fuel used in New Zealand industries, eg, horticulture, floriculture, timber processing and bitumen plants.  This fuel oil meets the specification requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency.

WPC’s experienced drivers and specialised equipment ensure a fast and efficient service with minimal disruption to your business.

WPC is a participant of the R.O.S.E. (Recovering Oil Saves the Environment) Scheme.  This is a scheme set up to manage and contract the collection of used (waste) oil to be reused as an alternative fuel source to diesel, light fuel oil (LFO) and gas.  R.O.S.E. promotes reusing the used oil to assist in minimising the potential for illegal discharges to the environment and to provide a sustainable end use for waste oil products.

WPC is certified as a Hazardous Substances Location under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996.

WPC implements a Quality System certified by QAS International that meets the requirements of PAS99:2012; ISO 9001:2015; ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015
